Privacy Policy

In short: your drawings are opened inside your browser and are not uploaded to us or to any other service. The site has no accounts, forms or advertising and sets no cookies. Cloudflare’s cookie-free visit counter is the only analytics, and it never sees your drawings.

Who is responsible

Your drawings

  • A DWG, DXF, PDF or image you open is read by code running in your browser tab. The file is not sent anywhere; the page makes no upload request.
  • Opening a file loads the readers from this site: a WebAssembly file for DWG and DXF, and the pdf.js files for PDF. Converting a DWG to DXF loads one more WebAssembly file. These downloads are the same for everyone and do not contain your data.
  • Exports (PDF, PNG, JPG, SVG, DXF, CSV) are produced in your browser and saved by it to the place you choose.
  • Closing the tab discards the drawing from memory.

Saved on your device

  • Measurements you make are saved in your browser’s local storage, keyed by the file name and size, so they come back when you open the same file again. The drawing itself is not stored.
  • A few settings, such as the display unit, may be saved the same way.
  • We cannot read this data. Clear it with your browser’s site-data settings, or use Clear all in the Results tab.

Email and server logs

If you email us, we receive the address and the message and use them only to reply and to keep a record of corrections. Please do not attach confidential drawings. The web server our host operates also records standard technical data for each request (IP address, time, page requested, browser name), for security and to keep the site running. Logs are kept for a limited period.

Cookies, analytics and advertising

DrawTape sets no cookies and shows no advertising. The site is served through Cloudflare, which adds Cloudflare Web Analytics: a small script that sends the page address, the referring page, browser and device type, country and page-load timings to Cloudflare so that we can count visits and measure speed. It uses no cookies and does not follow people from site to site. Your drawings are not part of what it sends. If this changes, this page will be updated first and the date under the title will change.

Your rights

If you are in the EEA or the UK, we process the email you send us, and the visit statistics described above, on the basis of our legitimate interest in answering you and in running a fast, working site. You may access, correct, delete, restrict or object to the processing of personal data about you, ask for portability where it applies, and complain to your data protection authority (in the UK, the Information Commissioner’s Office). Because we hold no accounts, we can usually only identify data you have emailed us. Residents of California and some other US states may know what personal information is collected, ask for its deletion or correction, and opt out of its sale or sharing. We do not sell or share personal information.

Children

The site is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect personal information from them. The tools work without anyone giving us any information.

Retention and security

Email is kept only as long as needed to handle your message. The site is served over HTTPS.

Changes

We will change this page if what the site does changes, and we will update the date under the title.
